Marya Knows

Who says there isn’t much fishing this time of year?! The other day I headed out with Brenden Hertz, the all time leader of broken fly rods, to fish Notellum and Random Ponds. A few hours of pond fishing turned into a mini-sized epic fishing adventure that included carp, bass, sunfish, rainbows, browns, giant crayfish, cliff walls and smelly pond water. For some reason I have an affinity for catching tiny fish (see my tiny Roosterfish here), so I couldn’t stop until I caught a small carp and even smaller sunfish. Brenden decided to be clever and catch all the big fish…until I caught this little brown in the fading light of the day now forever known in my mind as the Most Random Fishing Day Ever. A little creativity during high water sure goes a long way-I haven’t had that much fun in a long time.
