The Yellowstone River is finally starting to drop and green up a bit. It is currently flowing at 10,500 cfs in Livingston and 9,400 cfs at Corwin Springs. We had decent nymph and streamer fishing this weekend, with black Wooly Buggers, Big Nastys and King Princes. There are good numbers of Salmonflies and Golden Stoneflies in the valley though the fish don’t seem to be looking for the adults as of yet. The most consistent fishing was between Emigrant and Mallards Rest. Note that at theses flows the river is still moving very fast and should only be floated by expert oarsmen. As the river continues to drop we should see the fishing really turn on later this week. Call us at 406-222-9393 for a current report.
